The International Thespian Society (ITS), founded in 1929, is an honorary organization for high school and middle school theatre students located at more than 4,600 affiliated secondary schools across America and abroad. The mission of ITS is to honor student achievement in the theatre arts. High school inductees are known as Thespians and junior high/middle school inductees are known as Junior Thespians. ITS is a division of the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA).
Troupe 2017 at Del City High School was chartered on January 1st, 1991. After going dark for a number of years, we are please to announce that troupe 2017 has been reactivated! we have so many plans in the works and cannot wait to see this troupe grow and prosper!
To be considered for membership a student must earn 10 pts (each point is equivalent to 10 hours). This can be gained by participating in a One Act or A Feature Length Production, they must also have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Once they've reached the required points, they will be offered a place in the Troupe. They will need to pay a $30 one time induction fee this will get them all of the induction materials and a year subscription to Dramatics Magazine (a bi-monthly publication issued by our parent organization the Educational Theatre Association.)
Chapter dues are $10 each school year which will need to be paid to the Chapter Treasurer by the second week of school.
